So…the focus is on the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons for this years Superbowl 2017 – however we cannot neglect the fact that those ‘chips and dip’ have got to be paired with a fine American craft beer for the duration of the live showdown.
So, let’s dial down the panic and dial up the attention to the ‘real’ contenders and focus of this year’s Superbowl.
LONERIDER – HOPPY KI YAY | INDIA PALE ALE (6.6%)
Just a fly in the ointment, the monkey in the wrench, the pain in the ass – Hoppy Ki Yay includes some great malts and hops. This straw coloured IPA, hopped with Columbus and Amarillo hops, showcases hops in best way possible from start to finish.
This award-winning IPA, as featured at Craft Beer Rising 2016 is becoming an increasingly popular choice, with both can and keg tasting almost if this beer is pouring straight from the ‘magic mountain’ it came from.
STEVENS POINT | PALE ALE (5.4%)
By goodness, this is a great beer. Looking for something refreshingly hoppy, easily drinkable to compliment a multitude of, definitely not good for you, snacks?
Steven’s Point Pale Ale is handcrafted combining special top-fermenting yeast and a dry hopping process to create this truly classic American Pale Ale. The intriguing character is derived from generous quantities of the choicest Yakima Valley Cascade hops and the finest crystal, 2-row pale, and Munich malts.
The result is a delicious American Pale Ale with a signature fragrant hop bouquet and soft malt palate. Point’s Session Pale Ale is available by the keg – for more information on this Citra hop’d beer, visit here.
CRAZY MOUNTAIN- HOOKIEBOBB | INDIA PALE ALE (6.7%)
Why not, one more Indian Pale for the tank – after all, if your team is winning or losing – you’re going to need that extra IPA spark.
In the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, “hookiebobbing” referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic.
Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
The Superbowl is on Fox, this Sunday 5th February 2017 at 11.30pm (UK time).
